Soil as archive, material and living organism — talk at Nantesbuch
5th Symposium “Wahrnehmung von Böden in Bildung und Gesellschaft” · Stiftung Kunst und Natur, Nantesbuch (Bavaria)
Tide, Past Tense – Sura Pending (detail), 2026
Talk on Monday 26 October, 14:45: “Boden als Archiv, Material und lebendiger Organismus”. The presentation follows a line of research from rock to living soil, through three stations: Wäiss Kaul, the Soft Architecture programme developed with the Kustodie of TU Dresden and soil scientist Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Feger, and Tide, Past Tense, its first phase, completed in South Korea in September.
The symposium brings together artists, soil scientists and educators around new ways of perceiving and communicating soil. It is organised by the Stiftung Kunst und Natur with the University of Potsdam and Commission VIII “Soils in Education and Society” of the German Soil Science Society (DBG).

Tide, Past Tense — booklet and presentation
The booklet and the project presentation for Tide, Past Tense, shown at OhOn, Seoul in September 2026, are now available to download.
The booklet follows the fieldwork along the Korean west coast, at Saemangeum, Sura and Gomso Bay: the wall, the roads that stop, and the last tidal flat inside the reclamation. The presentation gathers the works, the installation and the research behind them. Tide, Past Tense is the first phase of Soft Architecture, a three-year project developed with soil scientists.

SHELLS IN A WUNDERKAMMER @ CAPE ETTELBRUCK: Running 24/02-20/03

Wunderkammer @cape_ettelbruck
Franck Miltgen is setting up an exhibition at Cape which brings together objects that the artist has created through recording and collecting processes. The traces thus obtained testify as much to very ancient realities, such as geological formations, as to realities linked to our contemporary way of life.
Similar to the cabinet of curiosities - this personal collection which prefigures the museum and which proved to be decisive for the development of the concept of the art exhibition - Wunderkammer offers a scenography between naturalia and artificalia which brings together culture, knowledge and beliefs.
